Accommodation

Victoria is an expensive and popular city, so we recommend booking your accommodation as soon as possible. Below are a few options for hotels that are centrally located, well-reviewed, and good value.

Hotels are listed in approximate ascending order of price for two people.

James Bay Inn
Likely the best value hotel in Victoria. Located in quiet James Bay in a historic 1911 building with vintage decor.
Swans Hotel
Restored 31-room boutique hotel from 1913 in a perfectly central location above Swans Pub, a former brewery.
Strathcona Hotel
The life of the party — located downtown above Victoria’s largest bar complex.
Quality Inn Inner Harbour
Clean, modern accommodation near the Inner Harbour with an indoor pool.
Helms Inn
Quaint inn with kitchenette suites next to Beacon Hill Park.

For hotel bookings, we recommend checking Expedia, booking.com, and the hotel’s website directly to get the best rate.

There are also plenty of VRBO and Airbnb options, as well as more luxury hotels if you are looking to splurge (e.g. The Empress, The Magnolia).

If you are travelling on a tight budget, get in touch with us. We have lovely local friends that we can pair you with who have offered spare rooms/mattresses.

Transportation

We live on an island, so if you are flying in or out of Vancouver, please give yourself at least 4 hours to transit and ferry between the two cities. If you are taking the ferry with a vehicle, we recommend reserving at least several weeks ahead.

We recommend using a taxi or Uber to get to and from the venue/afterparty. The venue and afterparty are fairly central, and all of the recommended hotels are a 5-15 minute drive from the venue.

If you choose to drive to the venue, parking is free. You may also leave your vehicle overnight and pick it up the following day.

We will have a free shuttle running at 11PM between the main venue and the afterparty at Ile Sauvage.

FAQs

What is the deadline for my RSVP?

Please let us know as soon as possible if you know you can or cannot make it. RSVP deadline is TBD.

What should I wear?

Our day will be semi-formal, so please save your shorts, dad sandals, and sneakers for your hikes. Please be prepared for an outdoor ceremony on a grass surface and an indoor reception where dancing is highly encouraged (i.e. basically mandatory).

Semi-formal dress-code guide: a suit or sport coat with an optional tie, and a formal pantsuit or cocktail dress.

Can I bring a guest?

Due to venue capacity constraints, we are only able to accommodate the guests named on your RSVP/invitation.

Are kids allowed?

We love your little ones, but we have chosen to only allow children of our immediate family to celebrate with us on our wedding day. We understand this may be a family trip for some of you and are happy to put parents in touch to help each other coordinate wedding day childcare.
